I'm thinking about combining several of Whitman's motifs in a painting... I think it would help me see the world more intimately through his eyes.
-grass/flowers/trees
-space/stars/sky
-roots
-water/ocean
It depends, though, on the nature of the project. An average painting takes me 30+ hours to complete, so if this is going to be overkill, I'd like to explore motifs in more depth some other way... perhaps creating a digital collage and writing about the following question: How do the motifs in Song of Myself talk to one another?
